  Please, don’t link your page to another page with the same anchor you are targeting, because you are boosting your own competitors. They will get more traffic than you due to your links. They will rank higher and you will be hurt.

  The best way to add external links is to link to authoritative sources talking about similar topics, not the same as you. In this case, you get the value of this link without harming your website.
