The president of Tanzania has called on financial chiefs in the country to prepare for the arrival of bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

President Samia Suluhu Hassan said Tanzania’s Central Bank should explore the use of bitcoin following El Salvador’s announcement last week that it would be adopted as legal currency. She said that, Tanzania will follow emergence of a new journey through the internet by adopting bitcoin

She called the Central Bank of Tanzania to be ready for the changes and not be caught unprepared.

Some African countries too are willing to follow suit. Recently, we heard that Nigeria and Tunisia are preparing to adopt bitcoin as one of their currency.

What is your take on the bold step taken by the Tanzania president exploring the cryptocurrency space

With the influence of economists criticism just as in the case of El Salvador, I hope Tanzania won't fall for it. As quoted from Coinmarketcap.....

Steve Hanke, an economics professor who briefly served in Ronald Reagan’s administration, has even claimed Bitcoin “has the potential to completely collapse” El Salvador’s economy.

Questioning the practicality of El Salvador’s “Bitcoin Law,” which passed with a “supermajority,” he told Kitco News:

“You're not going to pay for your taxi ride with a Bitcoin. It's ridiculous ... 70% of the people in El Salvador don't even have bank accounts.”

Hanke is also unconvinced about the argument that Bitcoin could shake up the world of remittances — describing it as “nonsensical.”

That is a very good choice by taking this step. Nowadays cryptocurrency is accepted by many countries and I think this revolution should be adopted by all countries to make the word payment & transactional system better.

Awesome Plan by taking this step. Cryptocurrencies are almost always designed to be free from government manipulation and control, although as they have grown more popular, this foundational aspect of the industry has come under fire.
