Hello Hassan,

I host a wordpress website  on a VPS ! I  installed the premium url shortener on the subdomain of my website !

Example my subdomain is example.mysite.com, how can make my url shortener with certificate ssl ?

A already checked your article : https://h-educate.com/premium-url-shortener-saas-business/

I run this commands :

1- sudo add-apt-repository ppa:certbot/certbot

2-sudo apt-get update

3-sudo apt install python-certbot-apache

4-sudo certbot --apache -d example.mysite.com

But it dosn't work !! My website still have http part (no redirection even if I chose the option that requires https redirection ) and https doesn't work properly (the site is displayed with the images displayed randomly)

What i did wrong ?

Hi Hasan
Thank you for your amazing informative and useful channel and resources.

I am setting up the Premium Link Shortener following your instructions and have some questions, and updates for you.

When ordering the VPS from Contabo I did not select “Individual reverse DNS”. I only saw that instruction later in the blog post. It was not an option on the order form and I do not see a way in Contabo to add that now. Is it important? Advice please?

Then the config went fine until the video said to edit 000-default.conf in /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/. That did not work, so I followed the instructions in the blog to create file “yourdomain.conf” in /etc/apache2/sites-available/ (different folder) instead.
That worked! I was up and running, as http.

I followed the instructions in the blog to add SSL. Command "sudo add-apt-repository ppa:certbot/certbot" failed completely.
I then followed the SSL instructions in the 'Make $3225.02...' video. I had to change the command to "apt update && apt install certbot python3-certbot-apache -y" (adding the 3) to install the certificate. The site is now https.

Great, BUT!!!
Now the css does not format the site like when it was http, it is all text. And when I try to log in now it complains that the page is not secure (even though it shows the padlock) and I cannot log in at all. See screen shot.

Do you have ideas to try or a solution I can use?

Thanks, much appreciated!

Hi Hasan.  Thank you for your quick response.

I cannot figure out which file you refer to.  Is it the config.php file in '/var/www/html/includes'?  There is nothing obvious in there that I can change.

I have read the certbot user guide documentation and also run the suggested test on ssllabs.com, but see no clues there. A test on  https://check-your-website.server-daten.de says the app uses http. Though as a fairly non-tech person I may be clutching at straws here... 😉

Hopefully it will get fixed by your suggestion, I just need to find the right file!

Many thanks again for any help you can provide.

I really dont remember exactly the file path, but there is a config file where you can enter the site name. change it to https. or contact the author and let him tell you exactly where is the file.
